Meet Our CEO
Imani DaCosta
Our CEO, Imani DaCosta, embarked on her entrepreneurial journey in September 2021. In less than two years, she transformed her business into an agency, built a team of five talented individuals, launched "The Organized Mom" podcast, and established herself as a trusted soul-led entrepreneur.
While dedicating less than 20 hours per week to her business, Imani successfully learned to create sustainable structures for her business and her personal life. Those same structures allowed her to blend her business with her personal life , which allowed her to scale with ease. Imani is a mother of two & has been running her business alongside raising a neurodivergent toddler and an infant in NYC.
Imani's path to success was not without its challenges. She understood that there are no shortcuts or magic formulas in building a sustainable online business.
It took doing the inner work , changing her mindset , getting clear on healthy boundaries, finding a sustainable way to blend her personal life, business life and investing in mentorship.
Throughout her journey, Imani cultivated authentic connections, nurtured a powerful referral network, and engaged in meaningful conversations rather than simply pushing sales, paying for advertisements, cold dm’s or cold emailing.
Imani learned the art of forming real connections and continues to show up for her community to provide new insights and knowledge each month through her paid and free communities.

Our personalized one-on-one sessions are designed exclusively for current Online Business Managers (OBMs) and Virtual Assistants (VAs) that need support , guidance and strategy for their business.
Before the session
You will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire and assessment that will allow Imani to better understand your specific needs and challenges. This information will serve as the foundation for a focused and tailored discussion during your session. No two sessions are ever the same!
During the session
You can seek strategy and feedback on essential topics such as branding, marketing, client processes, system streamlining, and transitioning from a VA to an OBM. Imani will look at your business from a hollistic lense. She will take into account what will work best for YOU and give advice and recommendations that will work for your current stage in business and your budget so your next move feels aligned and realistic.
Please note that this one-hour call allows for in-depth exploration of one-two specific topics of your choosing. This focused approach ensures that Imani can deliver the maximum value and provide you with actionable insights to drive your business forward. If you have multiple questions or areas of focus, we recommend considering our 6 month program or booking bundled sessions, which offer even greater value and savings.
Throughout the session
Imani's guidance and expertise will be recorded for your convenience, allowing you to revisit the valuable insights and recommendations shared during the call.
After the session
You will receive a video of the call , a detailed PDF workbook outlining the key takeaways and actionable steps discussed. You will also receive a summary of your initial assessment and a breakdown of areas in your business that need support and improvement. After this session you will feel empowered and clear on what you need to do in your business. You will understand whats working in your business and what needs to be improved in order for you to run a sustainable online business and create the life you desire.
For those seeking extended guidance and more comprehensive support, we offer bundled sessions. With our 2-session bundle, priced at $600 (a savings of $100), or our 4-session bundle priced at $1200 (a savings of $200), you can dive deeper into your business challenges and receive continued guidance. Why was dacostacademy created?
Imani created this program because she was tired of seeing virtual assistants enter the industry without an understanding of online business and the reality of the current market. Imani has seen people complete 3-day courses and 3-month courses and still struggled to achieve the level of success she had attained in a relatively short time.
The main difference that Imani noticed was that she didn't rely on formal courses or programs to become an online business manager or virtual assistant, she taught herself. Imani did invest in a mentor who taught her how to run a sustainable online business- not just how to create an aesthetically pleasing Instagram page or a Canva portfolio like many have been told. Imani was able to learn all the moving parts of an online business and how to scale it with ease.
Imani knew that aspiring virtual assistants did not understand the key elements of business. Community, Branding, and Skill Set were lacking from many of the aspiring VA’s she came across. Many individuals completing programs found themselves unsupported during the launch phase of their business which typically occurred after their program was completed. This made Imani realize the necessity for a comprehensive program that provided ongoing support and guidance
during the launch phase.
DaCostAcademy was intentionally created to be a 6-month program so that entrepreneurs in the program have time to learn about themselves and create a business that is truly centered around them. The program was ultimately created to be a business mentorship program with a high level of support from start to finish. The intention is that aspiring virtual assistants leave this program confident, organized, and have a clear understanding of how online business works and how they can add value to this industry and their community.
